Wills, in her first year with the Peninsula Waves in the Holden Cruze Championship State Netball League, has already had to conquer the hurdle of a knee reconstruction.
It is testimony to her determination that not only has she overcome the injury, she appears to be playing better than ever and has her sights set on playing for the state and then Australia.
The former Frankston High School student is an administrative assistant at the Australian Cricket Board where she is on an AFL sports scholarship, but it is netball that has claimed her allegiance.
"I started playing with friends when I was young and I knew pretty soon that it was a game I wanted to play," she said.
Wills spent three years with the Yarra Valley Grammar Ariels also in the state league before transferring to the Waves this year.
"They have different systems and different ideas and it has been good for me to embrace that," she says.
Wills was out for 11 months with her left knee injury and admitted to a few nerves when she took to the court again. But they quickly went and she is now on track to achieve her goals.
